A project led by Ester Dus in collaboration with the agency Device, created around Sabrina Ionescu and her career with the New York Liberty.

Narrated by the legendary filmmaker Spike Lee, the video brings together key moments from Sabrina’s time with the team, using an analog-inspired visual language.

I mainly worked on the text animations, designing how typography appeared and moved during the key moments of Spike Lee’s narration.

The goal was to embrace a lower frame rate and slightly imperfect motion, matching the analog direction while giving the typography a more expressive and dynamic behaviour. I also explored changes in type weight, scale and positioning to add rhythm and emphasis to the narrative, as well as contributing to the overall visual treatment through blur, micro-typography, and scribbles.
